My mother's parents, Charles Basil Price (1890-1975) and Marjorie Trenholme Price (1891-1979), appear as extras in the movie My Side of the Mountain. They are seen with their backs to the camera, walking home, as Sam carries Gus the raccoon past St. Paul's Anglican Church.

From 1952 until 1973 they lived next to St. Paul's. Every day, Basil would raise the Union Jack (Knowlton had a larger proportion of Anglophones than at present) over his wife's "English Country" garden. Marjorie raised many flowers and tended her raspberry patch, a source of pies and jellies. A huge American elm stood between the two houses on their property; it succumbed to Dutch Elm Disease by 1990. By then, the property had fallen into disrepair in many other ways and it remained the town eyesore until restoration began in 2013. Tony (talk) 21:55, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

French bias

[edit]

Can someone please explain to me why someone keeps putting french first in the mother tongues list ? English has a bigger population and is alphabetically first as well. The only reasoning for putting french first would be for personal bias'. Wikipedia is not a venue to display editors personal preferences and political undertones. You are correct. I misunderstood the purpose of you edit. Secondarywaltz (talk) 02:24, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
